Come and join 4×4 Adventure Tours for a classic tour of North Devon for the weekend of 13 and 14 July 2019.

This route takes in some stunning scenery across Exmoor and the Exe Valley and includes some technically challenging lanes

Route

Day One – Starting near Tiverton ,this route crosses Exmoor to the famous Tarr Steps, an ancient causeway crossing the River Barle near Dunstable and onto Barnstable.

Day Two – Starting in Barnstable the route goes South towards Dartmoor and then doubles back to end near Tiverton.

The lanes vary from open moorland to classic North Devon lanes bordered by beach hedges with some great views across southern Exmoor.

Vehicle Suitability

As with much of North Devon, it’s hard to avoid lanes without a few intruding hedgerows, although this route is better than some and suitable for all but the shiniest of vehicles. There are some tricky sections, but these are all passable with care in a standard 4×4.
